Guidelines for applying

Prior to completing and submitting your application form, it would be helpful to have all the necessary documents prepared in advance to submit with your form. Incomplete application forms may not be processed resulting in a delay to your application being accepted.

Part One

The Part One Examination is held in March, June and October in various venues throughout each year.

Candidates may sit the Part One Examination at any time during or after their paediatric surgery training programme.

Electronic application forms are available and you are requested to include the following documentation with your application:

  • Completed electronic application form
  • Full cv
  • Scanned copy of your passport
  • One passport sized photograph of yourself
  • Confirmation of how you will pay your examination fee

Candidates may only attempt the Part One Examination once per year.

Part Two

Criteria:

  • Be a qualified Paediatric Surgeon in your own country
  • Preferably have worked in a European country for at least six months
  • Have a full completed log book
  • Have passed the Part One Examination
  • For countries which have no official structured training programme or exit exam, you must provide evidence of at least five years of paediatric surgery experience

  • Scanned copy of your passport
  • One passport sized photograph of yourself
  • Confirmation of how you will pay your examination fee
  • Full CV
  • Full log book (templates available on our website)
  • Proof of completion of paediatric surgery training
  • Recommendation in a structured format from two supervisors, one from your immediate supervisor and one from a European Centre. (Template available on our website)

Candidates may only attempt the Part Two Examination once per year
