This body is integrated by the representatives of all examination and assessment boards belonging to the Council of European Specialist Medical Assessment (UEMS.)
Founded in February 2007 this organisation was called in the beginning the Glasgow Group referring to the first meeting held in Glasgow.
It was decided to adopt the name CESME (Council of European Specialist Medical Examinations) and a declaration of principles called the Glasgow Declaration was produced. This name was changed later to CESMA – Council of European Specialist Medical Assessment.
The purpose of CESMA is to become an advisory body for the UEMS on examinations and assessment.
